Zero
Andrew Jackson
Introduction
Andrew Jackson was not a hero, but a zero. Although he had high determination for what he wanted, most times it was much too far. He claims to want to help everyone, but his crazy acts end up only helping some people and badly hurting others.
Why Jackson is a Zero
Trail of Tears
What kind of president kicks out people from their native land? Andrew Jackson does. During the trail of tears, many many indians were forced to reservations MUCH worse than where they lived before. During their travel, they experienced drought, freezing winters, starvation, and illness. About 4,000 natives died along the way.
Jackon's Inauguration
When we think of a president's inauguration, we think official, formal, and highly respected. However, Jackson's inauguration was quite the opposite. There were drunk americans including lower-class men and women stampeding into the White House. For Jackson becoming the 7th president, the situation should've been much more formal.
Killing the National Bank
Maintaining our national bank is very important to create a stable economy, which was going great until Jackson came in and destroyed it. Jackson believed that the bank only helps the wealthy and he says that he's for the common people. Even though he was standing up for what he wants, the actions he made to do so were not necessary just to destroy the national bank. The national bank creates a more stable system for our economy and is better for our country as a whole.
Political Cartoon
This political cartoon shows how Jackson represents a king during his presidency. He has a lot of power that he shouldn't have and he doesn't necessarily follow rules. In the cartoon, he is standing on the Constitution showing that he doesn't really care and wants to do his own thing. Jackson is also a president that uses the power to veto a lot to get around what he wants.
