High 5
October 2017
Hello Again!
Welcome to another great year in High 5! Our first few weeks have gone great and we look forward to all of the fun to come!
The Art of Life Skills
Kathy Gaffer, our art teacher here at Spooner Elementary, works with 3rd and 4th grade students two nights a week during High 5! Students enjoy learning focused on many different projects, including slime, while reinforcing one of the 6 Pillars of Character!
WIN - What I Need
Many grade level WIN teachers take time to connect math and reading basics! Day school teachers from all grades work with our after school students on key, individualized skills to improve their achievement!
Mrs. Bates
Mrs. Bates plays a letter recognition game with students to increase their reading ability in WIN.
Mrs. Macone
Mrs. Macone utilizes interactive and technology activities to engage first grade students during WIN club time.
Ms. Evans
Ms. Evans teaches Monday and Wednesday fourth grade WIN using self-paced and interactive methods to strengthen skills.

High 5 Happenings
Snack Time
Every student who attends High 5 gets a snack each night before beginning clubs.
Outside Time
We try and get outside as much as possible when it is nice out!
Volunteers Return
Making personal learning connections a priority each day, returning volunteers make a difference. Richard Okerlund, pictured here, works with students four days each week of our year together.
