Setting Up For Success
Creating a learning environment is critical for success. As we embark on a new learning block, take the time to adjust your tools. Be sure to have your supplies accessible, create a sitting/standing place for your classes, have fuel based foods near by and have the right sounds. I love music in the backgound when I am working. Be sure to identify what you need!
Problem of the Month - Community Math Task
Work with your student/s to work through this problem. Spend the time talking out ideas and documenting the thinking of every family member. If your family would like Math Journal, pop by the VLA office to pick one up. This helps all of you to record how your math communication skills will grow over time. The family can add ideas to the Jamboard and/or use the notebook then take a photo to upload to the Jamboard. Include student name and grade, eg Raymond L./1st. Have fun mathing!
