Panther Planner
Week of February 22nd

A message from the Principal
This week may have been short, but it has been action-packed!
As you likely have heard, the TVUSD school board voted to move forward with planning to re-open elementary schools beginning the week of March 15th.
We have a lot of information to share with our families regarding re-opening. Please be on the lookout for details about what to expect at PES when we re-open in a special Smore newsletter coming out later today (Friday, 2/19).
On Monday, all families will receive an email regarding the learning model option they selected earlier this year with an option to change the model preference. With March 15th right around the corner, it will be very important that we receive any requested changes by the due date so that we can finalize class lists.
While this year has certainly been one of the most challenging and absolutely is not the way any of us wanted the school year to progress, we feel so fortunate to have such amazing families, teachers, and staff that have pulled together and worked to support the learning needs of our students in this unique environment.
We are excited about the upcoming opportunity to learn together, even in a modified format, within the walls of our school. We also understand that families have different opinions about what is best for their child(ren) and their families. Whether you decide to learn for part of the school day on campus, or to continue to learn from home, we are so grateful for our Paloma family!
As we get nearer to the 1/2 way point of the second semester, this is a great time to CHECK YOUR CHILD'S GRADES on Infinite Campus for grades 1-5, and/or reach out to your child's teacher to check in on your child's progress. Are they completing assignments? Are they participating in live instruction and intervention (when invited)? Checking in now can help to prevent surprises when progress reports are sent home in March. We know these are difficult times and that learning at home, online is challenging. We are here to help support your student and family!
Our PTA is seeking interested parents that would like to become part of our PTA board for 21-22! See the info below! We'd love to have you!
As always, please know that we are here to help. Feel free to call the school, stop by the virtual help desk (details found below), or email us with questions or concerns.
We so appreciate YOU, our Panther Community!
Warmly,
Kim Parente
Principal
