Parent-Teacher Conferences

Dear Parents,

Early Release conferences are fast approaching. Dyer students will be dismissed at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, September 23rd and Thursday, September 24th . Please be sure to note these important schedule changes.

The purpose of a parent-teacher conference is to discuss student achievement and progress. Each parent-teacher conference will last for a period of twenty minutes, and both parents are urged to attend. Please be prompt as these conferences are scheduled consecutively. If a situation arises and you are unable to attend your scheduled conference, please notify the teacher so the conference can be rescheduled.

To schedule your conferences, click here, or you can visit our school’s website and click on “Conferences.” There you will be able to see all teachers’ schedules and sign up for a time that best suits your schedule. Computers will be available at Dyer for you to sign-up there as well. The ability to sign up for a conference online will close on Friday, September 18th at 11:59 pm. Please contact the teacher directly to sign up after the close of online scheduling.

We look forward to seeing you during conference week.

Grandparents Lunch September 10th & 11th!

Calling all grandparents! Please join us for a special lunch in your honor! (Adult lunches are $3.00, please bring exact change.) In order to allow room for our additional guests, we will be splitting grade levels into two days. The schedule is as follows:

Thursday 9/10: Kindergarten, 2nd & 3rd Grades

Friday 9/11: 1st, 4th, & 5th Grades

Ice cream will be sold on both Thursday and Friday that week so that all students have a chance to purchase.

Lunch visitors will not be allowed for students on the day their grade level does not have grandparents lunch as they will be eating in their classrooms, and have limited seating.

e-Book Apps!

Dear Parents,

The Media Center will be showing the students how to access our eBooks next week. There are free apps available for our eBooks that can be downloaded on portable devices.

For our Follett eBooks, you can download the Follett Brytewave for K-12 app.

For our Capstone eBooks, you can download the Capstone Interactive app. Unfortunately, the Capstone Interactive app is only available for Apple devices.

There will be handouts they will receive on how to use the apps next week. I can also assist the students with the apps if they bring their devices with them to the Media Center.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Langford
