National Read a Book Day
September 6
Hello all,
Can you relate? I so hope so, because if your not a reader you are missing many adventures that are right at your fingertips. This past year during my retirement, I have read so many books that have been great reads, from The Outlander series in the highlands of Ireland to the days of Kings and Queens in France & Scotland in the 1500's, and many others in between. The trick to loving to read is finding the genre of reading you connect with. I do hope as leaders of children we are all sharing our love of literature in every form and fashion with our students. I have always taken my grandkids to Barnes & Nobles, one because I love it, but also to create a love for books within them too. I do believe they like to read, wouldn't say "love" yet, but hopefully they will all become lifelong readers. Let's make a goal to instill this in all our kids, not just the ones we live with, but the ones we come in contact with every day.
The ELA teachers will be doing activities specifically geared toward Nat'l. Read a Book Day, the rest of you join in if you would like!
