Ocean Pollution is a Big Problem
By: Trevor A.
Why is ocean pollution a big problem?
Ocean pollution is a big problem. If we don't start doing anything about it, our oceans will overflow with waste and we won't be able to go surfing and fishing anymore. You can do many things to help our oceans. For example, can go to the beach and pick up garbage and save plastic from going into our seas. You can make a difference by throwing your trash away after you picnic or snack during a visit.
Key details
There are new micro organisms from the sewage water and trash that we are dumping in the ocean. These micro organisms end up in drinking water and streams. Scientists have found over 400 dead zones global. This can have affect on all of the drinking water on earth.
Statistics
35,000,000 tons of trash in the Pacific coast. 40 million tons that washed up on our shores. Also 260 animal life species that ate plastic. This is a problem.
Summary
The point of the article is don't throw your trash in the ocean. Millions of tons of trash in plastic are thrown in the ocean every year and it is putting at least 260 species and underwater creatures at risk of dying from eating plastic.
