Read Alouds:

Phonics:
We will continue working on adding or substituting individual sounds (phonemes) in simple, one-syllable words to make new words. RFK2e
Children will continue applying grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. RF.K.3
Children will work continue to work on blending, and segmenting syllables in spoken words. RF.K.2b
Children will distinguish between similarly spelled words by identifying the sounds of the letters that differ. RF.K.3d

Writing:

Math
*We will continue working on solving addition and subtraction word problems and adding and subtracting within 10 by using objects or drawings K-OA1 K-OA2
* We will continue focusing on decomposing numbers less than or equal to 7 by using objects or drawings (7 = 2 + 5 and 7 = 4 + 3). K-OA3
*We will continue working on composing and decomposing numbers 11-19 into tens and some more ones (18 - 1 ten and 8 more). KNBT1
Science/Social Studies

Important Reminders
*Children's Theater - Wednesday, February 7th - Bring a sack lunch and drink unless you ordered one from the lunchroom.
*The kids will be exchanging Valentine cards. Please let your child write his/her name on each card for his/her classmates. This is a great way to practice handwriting skills.
*Valentine Cards must be at school by Monday, February 12th.
*Valentine Party Money - $3.00 cash due by Monday, February 12th.
*We need volunteers to help with our L&W Restaurant on Wednesday, February 14th. This is our Valentine Party. The L&W Restaurant will be from 8:30 - 9:30. We will need parents/grandparents to serve as Waiters/Waitresses and parents to send in items for the restaurant. Please go to the sign up genius link below to help with this endeavor.
