Updates and Reminders...
Happy Valentine's Day...tomorrow!
Remember that we are a "Healthy School" and one of the requirements to meet the Distinguished level is to only serve snacks that are healthy. With that being said, do not allow any candy, junk food, or sweet treats during your incentives or celebrations. Remind parents that we do NOT allow cupcakes (I know...I love a good cupcake every now and then!) or sweets in the classroom--this includes birthday celebrations. If someone does bring in an inappropriate treat, remind the parent that they are not allowed and offer to send them home with students at the end of the day. Encourage non-edible items like stickers or pencils. Thank you!
Access Testing
Thank you to everyone that helped administer this assessment to our ELs. Thank you to Allie Miranda for her leadership! Woo Hoo!
Flu (not Fu) and Strep
Keep sanitizing everything you or your students might touch in the classroom. This flu season has really hit our school community hard. Reach out to the primary teachers or your students' parents for additional Clorox Wipes. We do have a few containers here in the office that we'd be happy to share. Stay Healthy!
Calling the Main Office
If you've ever had the pleasure of being in the Main Office in the morning between 8:00 and 8:30 you know firsthand that it is insane to say the least. If you are running late your best option is to text Gina directly. If you are calling the office from within the building to locate a student or ask a question...please do us a favor and call after 8:30.
Unless it is an emergency, or really, really important, please try to avoid any office contact between 8-8:30.
Personal Days
There has been a bit of confusion around protocols for PB days. Here are the steps you need to take to request a "non emergency" personal day:
1. See me and I'll check the calendar to see if we have availability. Unfortunately I can only approve 2 per day--one teacher and one support staff member.
2. If approved, see Gina and let her know that you will be out on a PB Day.
3. Put it into Frontline. (Do not skip steps 1 and 2 and enter it into Frontline.)
I promise you that I will do everything that I can to approve your requested days. If you know in advance that you need a day--let me know as soon as possible.
Class Catalyst
To all of our 3rd-8th grade teachers, please make sure that you set aside a couple of minutes each day for Class Catalyst. The Class Catalyst is an important component of SEL at Linne and it provides valuable data for you as a classroom teacher, and us as a school community.
Clerk's Corner
Timekeeper: Be consistent and check your swipes by the end of each week. Make corrections when necessary. If you are not sure, please see me in the office.
Interstate Photos: If you're missing class pictures/photos, please see me in the office.
Counselor's Couch
Month of Kindness
Don't forget to start leaving little clues with your tokens of kindness...it makes it really fun:)
Let me know if you haven't received anything...there could be miscommunication:)
