Message from the Principal

Dear NACP Students and Families,

I hope you are all safe and well. These past few days have been busy, our teachers are assessing student learning and are making the necessary changes to ensure every student receives the help they need whether that is enrichment or intervention. Although this is something teachers have always done, doing it remotely proves to be a little more challenging. Our students and teachers depend on many other factors to make it happen. We will continue to encourage our kids to show up to class, to interventions and to Google Classroom for independent practice, we ask that you do the same. It is always nice to see students learning! Below you will find information about attendance and the efforts NACP is making to encourage students to show up every day.

The week of January 25th is National School of Choice Week. It is the world's largest celebration of opportunity in education. I included the 2021 National School Dance Tutorial and a link to this year's song. Have fun learning the dance and share your video with us by sending it to we will feature a few videos on our social media sites and next week's newsletter. Thank you so much for making NACP your school of choice. Please share everything you love about NACP with family and friends (also with us) and remember to invite new families to join for the 2021-2022 school year. Our lottery interest form is available on our website.

Thank you NACP Teachers and Parents for all you do for our kids!

Sincerely Yours,

-Dr. Guerrero

Attendance Matters - Be There
There is no doubt that regular School Attendance is important, whether classes are held in person at NACP or virtually via Zoom what matters is that children are present, engaged, and learning. According to the National Center of School Statistics, "Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. This relationship between attendance and achievement may appear early in a child's school career," (2009). We encourage you to do the following to help your child succeed in school...

  • Partner with your child's teacher and the school
  • Interact with your child (ask questions about school)
  • Set routines for your child (children thrive when there's structure)
  • Create a schedule that includes a time to wake up and get ready for the start of each school day, time to do classwork, time to play, meal time, bedtime, etc.
  • Have high expectations for your child
  • Celebrate your child's successes!

If at any time you need help please feel free to reach out to us. We want all of our students to be successful and are happy to provide the supports you need or refer you to community organizations that can help. If your child has to miss school, please make sure you let the office staff or your child's teacher know via Remind, email or phone call.

Thank you for making NACP your School of Choice! We celebrate the opportunities we give our students every day!
