Dear Robert Hunter families,
Wow - what an amazing first week of school! Our students did such a great job learning and setting into new routines. There has been so much excitement (and lots of smiles!) in the building as we are building classroom communities where learning will thrive. The Back to School Social was the perfect way to celebrate everyone’s accomplishments - thank you to all of the staff and families who attended the social! Also, thank you to our PTO who helped organize this event!
I am so pleased that Mrs. Lindsay Shirvanian will be joining the Robert Hunter family soon as Interim Vice Principal! Mrs. Shirvanian is a dedicated educator and school leader who will be a great asset for our school community. Mrs. Shirvanian will begin her position as Interim Vice Principal this upcoming Wednesday. More information about Mrs. Shirvanian will be shared in next week’s newsletter.
I am looking forward to another great week at Robert Hunter! Thank you for sharing your children with us!
Warm regards,
Jessica Braynor

Please send any dismissal notification emails as close to 9:00 a.m. as possible.

Introducing Officer Ed Purcell
Officer Ed Purcell will be joining Robert Hunter as a full-time Class III Officer. Please see an introduction from Officer Ed Purcell here:
I recently retired from the Somerville Police Dept. after 29 years. I am married with three children who all attended the district schools ( 2 in college and one a senior at Central) and 2 little dogs. I have lived in Raritan Twp for 22 years. Everybody I have met at Robert Hunter has been great and welcoming. I am excited to be part of the school community. Go Raccoons!
Counselor Corner - A Message from your School Counselors!
Hi Robert Hunter families! We are fortunate this year to have two school counselors at our school. We would like to introduce ourselves - Mrs. Fontanez, School Counselor, and Mrs. Severino - Bilingual School Counselor. Although we work with different populations we work together to create a positive school climate. Our roles include connecting families with resources, conflict mediation between students, bullying prevention, and classroom/grade level lessons on social-emotional skills such as problem solving. We also conduct individual and group counseling for students in need on a short term basis.
We will be providing tips to families in our counselor corner which will be in this section of the family newsletter! Please look out for our first edition soon.
We hope everyone had a wonderful first week of school!
Best,
Sarah Fontanez and Susan Severino
