Preparing for WorkKeys
Everything you need to know!
Why should I take the WorkKeys?
- You want a job that pays more than minimum wage
- It looks great on a resume and/or job application
- You're either going straight into a full-time job after graduating from high school OR you will be working while you go to college and need to be competitive for the limited number of jobs available in college towns.
What is WorkKeys?
WorkKeys is a job skills assessment that many companies use when choosing who to hire. It's a series of tests that measure one's knowledge of "soft skills" and practical reading and math skills.
Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys assessments in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information can lead to earning ACT's National Career Readiness Certificate (ACT NCRC), a portable credential earned by more than 2.3 million people across the United States. You can earn a bronze, silver, gold, or even platinum certificate depending on your score!
