Second Grade News
Week 20 - January 22-26, 2018
English Language Arts
Our reading this week will be Akiak: A Tale from the Iditarod. During our reading we will determine the difference between facts and opinions, and identify examples of each. We will also further our exploration of nonfiction text structures. Our grammar focus will be possessive nouns, or nouns that show ownership or possession.
Spelling:
This weeks spelling words have the /s/ sound. The /s/ sound can be spelled with the letter s, like you see in the words sit and pass. It can also be spelled with the letter c, like you see in the words mice and pencil.
Math
Science
We will study cloud types and the kind of weather usually seen with each type. We will identify and predict weather patterns, temperature, cloud coverage, and wind conditions based on data.
