From the Principal's Desk
Tobacco, Alcohol & Other Drugs (TAOD)
As part of the Central Bucks School District Elementary Health Curriculum, a unit entitled Tobacco, Alcohol and other Drug (TAOD) is taught to pupils in grades K – 6. The primary purpose of this program is to educate the children on the negative impacts of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs, as well as the impact of negative peer influences.
Your child’s teacher will teach researched-based lessons developed by Central Bucks teachers and certified school nurses using HealthTeacher.com as a resource. In order to deliver a consistent, cohesive curriculum, all Central Bucks teachers will deliver this curriculum during Red Ribbon Week, October 26 – 30, 2015. Course level goals and objectives can be found on the school district’s website:
Parents who wish to have their child excused from the program, should send a written request to the attention of the principal.
As always, please do not hesitate to call with any questions.

Directions for Car Riders
Please remember to follow these few simple guidelines to help move our cars through the drop off lane as quickly as possible:
~ Give hugs and kisses at home before you get into your car.
~ If possible, have your child’s car seat on the passenger side of the car for easy exit.
~ Turn off your child locks as you enter the driveway, so your child can open the door.
~ If you are the first car, move all the up to the first orange cone.
~ Remain in the car and encourage your child to exit quickly.
With your cooperation, we will avoid lengthy lines of cars on West Street. Thank you for your cooperation.
Students are required to bring a written note to school when they are absent or tardy. An Unlawful Notice will be sent home when a student is absent three days without an excuse note. Any subsequent absence will result in truancy charges being filed. This will require parents to meet to establish a Truancy Elimination Plan. Parents are encouraged to check the Parent Portal to check their child’s attendance records.
