What the Tech!
from Malinda:
Why should I use Papercut when I can still print directly to the Konica copiers? Well, you need to switch to Papercut, because the ability to print directly to the Konica copiers will be disabled soon. Did you know that there are many advantages to Papercut?
“Papercut” will significantly cut the amount of paper that is wasted. Not only will this save our district money, it will also make our district greener by reducing our carbon footprint. Gone are the days of wasteful cover pages, lost print jobs, and unclaimed piles of paper. Papercut also gives you the chance to change your mind and cancel print jobs you no longer need.
When you use Papercut, your print job is sent to a secure location in the cloud, making it much easier to keep items secure. This means exams, IEPs, and other documents will be 100% secured. These items will remain in the cloud until you release them to a copier, at which point, you will be standing right there to ensure that they don’t get into the wrong hands.
Papercut will also add more convenience to your daily routines. You no longer have to plan printing around your schedule. You can send your print jobs to Papercut and print them later - from ANY district copier equipped with Papercut. Virtually all copiers are connected to the cloud, so when you sign in with your employee number, it doesn’t matter which copier you use. If you use a school laptop from home, you can even send your jobs the night before, and print them when you sign-in in the morning.
The best advantage of all, is that Papercut will save you time! Gone are the days of searching for print jobs that disappear during the time it takes to get to a copier. Gone are the days of having to resend your job to a different copier because the one you use is temporarily out of service. Simply sign in to any other copier to retrieve your print jobs. Gone are the days of sending your print job to the wrong printer and having to walk far out of your way to pick it up.
So, as you can see, Papercut has advantages. It will reduce waste, increase security, add convenience, and save your precious time. If you need help setting up Papercut on your computer, enter a help desk request for Technology Training/ITS or email helpdesk@lowell.k12.ma.us and I will set up a tutoring session with you.
School vacation is coming soon!
Remember some of our students will be needing some extra love this week, sometimes it's hard knowing you won't have your school support for a whole week.
Enjoy the week, we got this!
