Ready for the Road Ahead?

Stanton Elementary 2022-2023 Volume 6

A Moment with Mrs. Miller

Fall is finally in the air! We are beginning a very busy season here at school as well as in homes, but we know that although plants and grass are slowing growth, your child is entering a time of enormous growth here at school. We have moved into a time where many students begin to really learn things they have never done before and sometimes become frustrated. I encourage you to stay in contact with your child's teacher and know what is going on so you can communicate any troubles you see at home.

Next week is Red Ribbon Week. This year, like last, we will be focusing on all aspects of safety. We have 3 days of guest speakers coming. Monday will be Oncor, Wednesday will be the Rockhounds, and Friday will be our local heroes from the police, sheriff, fire, and other emergency departments. On Tuesday, we will have a practice drill for what to do in an emergency situation. We call this a lock down/out drill. If you arrive on campus, you will have to wait outside while we conduct this drill. We have already conducted a fire drill and the students and staff did amazing, and we anticipate that this drill will be just as smooth!
