Hi, my name is Naomi De Dios and I am currently a senior here at Legacy. I joined Legacy as a freshman, and since then I’ve made many amazing memories and had many enjoyable experiences here. I enjoy getting involved in all the extracurriculars here at Legacy, as I am currently a board member for various clubs, such as being the NHS parliamentarian for 3 years, as well as the ASB club manager for 2 years. These experiences have helped me gain many valuable leadership and teamwork skills, which I hope to take with me throughout college. Once I graduate high school, my goal is to get into a 4-year university and pursue a bachelor's degree in business administration and possibly double major in marketing. A few of my dream colleges would be USC, NYU, or UC Berkeley. These colleges stood out to me as they have exceptional business schools and offer many business programs/opportunities, which will be helpful in pursuing my major. Legacy has really helped me solidify my passion for business and marketing, as this school's curriculum is very entrepreneurial-based. Sin, ce Legacy is a very entrepreneur-focused school, many of the classes were geared toward the business field. I found these classes very enjoyable and I found myself becoming more immersed in the business and marketing field. I hope to take the skills and knowledge I’ve learned in these classes with me into college and my future career path. I’m both very nervous and excited about my future. The thought of going out into the real world is intimidating and I still don’t understand the whole “adulting” thing, but I'm very excited about all the possibilities and opportunities that may come my way. 10 years from now, I see myself traveling the world, and exploring different countries. I’ve always enjoyed traveling to different places and learning about different cultures, and it’s been a dream of mine to travel the world. I would also hope to have a stable, full-time job in the business field. I’m looking forward to what the future has to offer.

Hi, my name is Maheer Grang and I’m in 12th grade at Legacy. I’ve been involved in a wide variety of clubs and extracurricular activities, from robotics, to dramatic productions, to yearbook, and more. Currently, I’m the stage manager of the upcoming dramatic production play, I’m the treasurer of Thespians, and I’m an aspiring referee for the Comedy Sportz Club. I’ve been at Legacy since my freshman year, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. My experiences at Legacy have allowed me to develop great leadership skills and build my collaboration abilities, which will help me be successful during college and beyond. My plans after high school are to go to a 4-year university and hopefully obtain a master's degree in aerospace engineering. Some of my dream schools would be UCLA, the University of Washington, and Georgia Tech. Legacy has helped me learn a lot about the area of technology and design. The classes I’ve taken have taught me to push myself academically and focus on mastering the concepts I’m learning. Because of the TIDE focus at Legacy, I was able to take classes such as STEM, physics, and rapid prototyping which allowed me to gain some experience in the field I'm interested in and solidified my interest in this area. I’m excited to take the skills and knowledge I’ve gained and further them through college and my future career. I’m pretty apprehensive about the future, as there’s a huge difference between high school and going to college. However, I’m excited to see how it all plays out, and I’m optimistic about the opportunities and experiences that are to come. 10 years from now, I see myself working for either a defense contractor or aerospace company such as Boeing or Northrop Grumman, or working towards getting my commercial pilot's license. I would also be participating in research on new aerospace technologies and focus on being part of future technological developments. I would also like to travel more and gain new experiences around the world.

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) program at Legacy Magnet Academy is running its very first Student Business Leadership Summit on November 4th. From 8:00 AM - 12:30 AM, students will have the ability to participate in one of 3 business-oriented events: World Economic Forum, World Trade Organization, and Shark Tank. Whether you’re a middle school student seeking opportunities to learn about elements part of the heart of LMA, or a senior in high school looking for something to add onto your resume, the summit provides it all. For any students interested in the Summit, visit the QR code & website on the poster.

The students of the LMA FBLA program have taken the initiative to organize and plan an entire event focused on Leadership, Business Management, and Public Speaking for all students of Legacy! For anyone interested, LMA FBLA will be having an interest meeting on 10/19 at Mrs Zechiel's room (2-125). We welcome and encourage all Legacy students to compete.

In collaboration with our TUSD high schools, we are hosting another amazing parent workshop! The topic is Vaping Prevention, and it will be facilitated by Orange County Department of Education. Parents will learn what vaping and marijuana is, how these substances affect the teen brain and body, how to talk to your kids about tobacco, vaping, and marijuana, and tips and resources to help prevent tobacco, vaping, and marijuana use. Join us for this 1-hour workshop on Tuesday, 10/24/23, from 5:30pm-6:30pm (virtual - Zoom). Parents, click HERE for more information! In Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, at lunch we had the opportunity to watch the MARAVILLOSOS OCSA Ballet Folklorico dancers! Students were so excited to see the beautiful performances. We are so fortunate to have them perform for the second year in a row! ASB also hosted a Paleta Cart. We hope that you all had the chance to find the Paletero (Clyde!) and choose one of our DELICIOSAS paletas! Students enjoyed eating the Paletas while watching the Folkorico Dancers!

Congratulations to our new 6th grade ASB members Paige Lee, Aubrey Lumbard, Jake Cordeiro, Sofia Barraza, and Mason Chu! We are thrilled to invite them into ASB and can’t wait to see the amazing impact they have on their teams!

Clyde passed out some LMAzing treats to our fall athletes today!! Athletes enjoyed refreshing Clyderade and fueling Clyde bars. We are so lucky to have such a kind and generous mascot!

TIDEPool tutoring takes place every Tuesday during Point Break! Middle school students can head to the downstairs commons to seek help from our experienced high school tutors. Tutoring starts at 2:05 and ends at 2:55 - we can’t wait to see you at the TIDEPool!

We are having our first ever Senior Scary Movie Night! It will be Friday, October 13th from 7-9pm in the amphitheater. Entry is FREE with an ASB Card, and $5 without. Fresh popped popcorn will be given out and delicious candy will be for sale! (this event is for seniors only).

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In honor of all the Breast Cancer Warriors, every Friday will be Teal, Steel, and PINK day. We wear pink to show support for those affected by Breast Cancer, so make sure to wear your legacy swag with some pink flair!

BOO! Stop by LMA on Sunday, October 29 from 3-5! We will be having our annual Trunk or Treat Club fundraiser. Entry is free and all community members are welcomed! The Mobites food truck will be there, along with some fun games, and yummy candy so make sure to bring money!

Last year, we raised an amazing $50K for gym equipment at our first ever gala! Join our fun team of volunteers to help with everything from decorations, silent auction, PR, wine wall, and more.
