WE'RE ALL LEARNING

STUDENTS: We focused on kindness this month. As your student what their classroom did to make the world a kinder place.

TEACHERS: On Thursday Penn teachers spent some time learning about components of a morning meetings and how this short activity helps with relationship development. And, of course, we're planning for an amazing week of learning and reconnecting when we return January 8.

COMFY COZY DAY on January 8

We're going to make returning to early morning routines a little easier. Everyone can come to school in their comfy cozy clothes or pajamas.

Winter weather calls for winter gear!

We go outside for recess everyday unless it is below zero degrees with the windchill. Kids love it when there's snow. It is an expectation that students wear boots and snow pants if they want to play in the snow. If they don't have these items, they are expected to stay on the blacktop areas only. Some of the grass-only activities include soccer, football and snowman building (so students would need snow pants and boots to participate in those activities) and playing on the structures. Blacktop choices include basketball and 4-square.

Please discuss these expectations with your children and help them come prepared with the right recess gear.

FOOD DRIVE for the NL Food Pantry

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is on January 15 this year. We do not have school on this day, but we think it is important to teach our students about Dr. King and give them an opportunity to serve our community. So, when we return from break, we will collect non-perishable food for the NL Pantry. We will collect food from January 10 - 17

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are you doing for others?"

Martin Luther King, Jr.

SCHOOL-WIDE HAT DAY was lots of fun. Thank you to our generous donors for making this possible.

Jingle bells ... Deck the halls ... Walkin in a winter wonderland

So much fun singing-a-long together! THANKS Mrs. Paisar!
