"For the Love of Learning!"
I Make a Difference
I would like to nominate Pam Jacobs. She truly makes a difference! Pam is our “hidden secrete” working with us in early childhood special education. She initiates, excels, and delivers when it comes to working with our little ones. Pam spends countless hours beyond the call of any assistant assuring that our preschool ‘operation’ runs as smooth as ever. Her genuine love, patience and kindness for children is evident as you see when you walk into our classroom. Pam is our left arm and our right. Elise and I could not function without her.
Thank you Pam, for your exceptional teaming and love for our students! We are truly grateful for the difference you make each day! Leanne Bolin

PURPLE UP!
As many of you know, April is the Month of the Military Child across the state of Virginia. The Virginia Department of Education is encouraging schools to take the time to celebrate and honor our military associated students. Here at Trantwood we currently have 158 military connected children!
TES will join the rest of the VBCPS community in celebrating "Purple Up! For Military Kids" Day on Friday, April 13th: Across the State, Friday, April 13, 2018, will be the day to "Purple Up! For Military Kids." Purple represents the blending of the colors of the five branches of our armed forces. Here in Virginia, we are proud to be home to Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, National Guard and Reserve families.

Report Card Comments:
Much thought should be given when creating report card comments. It is essential that we provide specific feedback and suggestions/opportunities for improvement in the report card comments. Statements included should be meaningful, positive, and accurate, yet tactful. Begin with something positive and include achievements earned by the student.
*As a reminder, if a student is at risk of retention due to grades,
*As a reminder, Mrs. Metzger and Mrs. Lewis will be checking all 543 report card comments. Please take your time to edit your own comments and then swap comments with a colleague to check before submitting them to Carolyne. The final copy will be submitted to Administration for review and there shouldn’t need to be any final edits.
Homeroom teachers, please do not transfer grades until after 5pm on Monday, April 16. Otherwise, you will not capture Specialists grades and comments on your report cards.
Our students loved dancing with the Stoughton High School Norweigan dancers!
Finally it's warm enough to write in the courtyard!
