The Media Connection - Library Media News from Ms. Arax
Greetings Felegy Staff! I hope you have a very happy and safe holiday break. See below for helpful information:
1) Literacy and Learning Initiatives through the Media Center: See below for all the ways I support student learning and can support your teaching. Hope to see you in the Media Center soon!
a) Student Book Check Out: During all 31 library media classes, rescheduled classes when missed, mornings from 7:30 - 8 am for grades 4-5
b) Library Media Curriculum: Taught during library media classes, supports RELA, Arts Integration and grade level curriculum
c) Community Outreach: Connect with parents and the school community through events, meetings, informational letters and brochures, the Media Center website, phone calls and the PTA
d) Public Library Initiatives: I work with other librarians at the public library to make sure our school community learns about the helpful resources they have through joint events, the Media Center website, letters, brochures, and outreach
e) Staff Support: Book check out, grade level training meetings, individual training meetings, Media Center website, help via e-mail, collaboration, weekly knot messages and informational e-mails

2) Pick our school by clicking links (and scrolling down): Elementary -> Edward M. Felegy Elementary
3) Log into system: Use the same user id and password as you do for
your PGCPS e-mail
4) You will see Home and Catalog Tabs
a) Home Tab: Offers Online resources, Ebooks, and Teacher Resources
b) Catalog Tab: Search for books that we have in the Media Center, see if they are available and check your account.
