New Student Tech Squad
The newly formed NPM Tech Squad consists of 14 students in grades 9-11. The Tech Squad participated in a Tech Squad Boot Camp at the District Office in September. At this meeting, the NPM Tech Squad collaborated with the NPL Tech Squad to learn about the various types of tech housed in both high school libraries. Students also received training and information from Mrs. Vandergrift and Mr. Hall from the STSD I.T. department.
In October, the Tech Squad focused on their first job learning how to image laptops. This job started at the district office and was completed in the NPM library. At the next meeting, Mrs. Bogdan taught the Tech Squad laptop troubleshooting & repair; glitchy screens, changing the boot order, battery & screen replacement. Students then taught students!
The Tech Squad is also working with the I.T. department through an I.T. Ticket system. As students & faculty fill out I.T. tickets, Mrs. Bogdan then filters tickets to the Tech Squad. The Tech Squad reviews the tickets and spends time researching and dealing with technology issues. This is an on-going learning process that will hopefully result in a well-trained Tech Squad!
