Bobcat Bulletin
December 30, 2016
Dear FSS Staff,
We have a lot of work to do in a very short amount of time. We are going to focus on "what" and "how" we teach to make sure kids get it right the first time around. That means we have to get it right the first time as well.
Our students have the very best teachers in all of Fallbrook. They have a safe, beautiful school with teachers and staff whom love them. Because of this, we have made amazing progress in our culture and climate. Now it's time to bring it all together and get them ready for college/careers. We are perfectly positioned for GREATNESS! Let's get them proficient! They deserve it and we can do it. Remember, less is more. Focus on going deeper, doing less "fluff" and minimizing distractions. Don't over do it or over think it. Keep teaching simple and tight. Use your PLC team to calibrate the intended rigor of standards, best lesson delivery plans and analyze students proficiency weekly. We got this!
Here's to 2017!

Instructional Focus
Build into your daily ELA and Math lesson plans these small groups. The most successful rotations I have used are 10-15 minute rotations. Hearing every child read every day is our goal.
A small leveled ELA or Math group works with you while the rest are working through must-do's:
Lexia/Dreambox
Journal writing (ELA and math)
Partner project
AR/reading
Flash card work.
Leveled reading groups: K-3 are using Nancy Fetzer Literacy and 4-6th are using Fountas and Pinnell leveled readers in the library.
Please list these Literature and Math group times on your posted daily schedule.
