Pastor Campos led the prayer service. He began by reading Col 3:23, and he talked about how we are to work wholeheartedly for the Lord! Then we had a time of prayer led by students: Matthew H, Hannah, Parker, Hadley, and Brooklyn. Pastor Campos closed us with a final word of prayer, and we headed back to class!

Bring Your Bible to School-October 5th
Bring Your Bible to School Day is an annual, student-led celebration that empowers Christian students to live out their faith. All it takes are two simple steps—bringing your Bible to school and sharing what God’s Word means to you!
CCA students are encouraged to bring their Bible from home to school on Thursday, October 5th. This should be a fun event to see how many Bibles from home we can have here at CCA! The theme verse for this event this year is: "Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth."
What Does CCA mean to you?
CCA Service Project
Last Wednesday, the Junior and Senior classes traveled to the Benson Center during sixth and seventh hours to help serve in our community. The Golden Valley Door of Hope Annual banquet took place that night. The upperclassmen set out tables and chairs, and helped put decorations on the tables to help prepare for the event.
The Door of Hope’s mission is to provide compassionate support by empowering those at risk or impacted by unplanned pregnancy. They serve many women and men in need in Henry county. Door of Hope offers these free services: pregnancy test, ultrasounds, pregnancy counseling, material assistance, community assistance referrals, pre-natal classes, adoption referrals, parental training, among others.
This speaker for this year's Door of Hope Annual Banquet was Kathy Sparks Lesnoff, who is the President/CEO of Mosaic Pregnancy & Health Centers in Granite City and Belleville, Illinois.

CCA Chapel
On Friday, September 29th, chapel was opened by the 7th grade class. Afterwards, we heard a
message from Pastor Jeff Ferguson, from First Baptist Church of Lowry City. First, he spoke
about his two sons, Scott and Jon, and gave us all a life update on them both. He told us how important it is to hide God’s word in our hearts, and that the Lord will bless each and everyone
one of us, and will help us succeed in all we do.
Next, Pastor Jeff asked us, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” He then told us about a young man in his life that was recently in a tragic car accident. This young man's name is Colton Cobbs, and he lives in Houston, Texas. On August 8th, he experienced something that would forever change his life. He was in a car accident and is now paralyzed from the arms pits down. Pastor Jeff then told us how God could be using this situation for the good of others, and how the Lord could use Colton’s story to reach people and lead them to Christ. He concluded the message with Psalm 18:3 “ I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.” Lastly, we prayed for Colton and his family and that the Lord would work everything out for His eternal glory!
If you and your family would like to help Colton Cobbs, please pray for the following:
- Colton's injuries to heal physically & emotionally
- Financial provision for the Cobb's family now & for years to come
- Many people to come to Christ as a result of this accident
- Everyone to wear their seat belt and drive more carefully! --Audrey
