GREAT DAY TO BE A PIONEER!

Be Extraordinary!

From the Pioneer Leadership Team

Thank you Pioneer Caregivers,

Thank you to all of our Pioneer Caregivers that attended conferences in person or via zoom. We had a great turnout and it is always wonderful seeing you in person! Thank you to the PTSO for their continued support with the snacks for the teachers during conferences.

This week we had PD on Wednesday. We are so grateful to have amazing staff as we were led by Ms. Deacon and Ms. Macko on learning about about our EL students and SIOP strategies that we can implement in our classrooms that will impact all students learning! Thank you to Ms. Deacon and Ms. Macko.

We are looking forward to a great week at Pioneer. Don't forget that this weekend is daylight savings time and we "fall back" an hour. Enjoy the extra hour of rest. There will be no school for students or staff on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

The Pioneer Theater Guild starts their season this week with the Addams Family. Please read below to learn about showtimes and purchasing tickets. The shows sell out fast so hurry and buy yours today!

AP UPDATES - PIONEER!!

AAPS High School Students and Families,

Only a few days remain for you to register and complete payment to take an Advanced Placement (AP) Exam this coming spring without an additional late fee of $40 per exam (late fees are imposed by the College Board, not AAPS). AP Exam registration and payment is a two-step process. Complete both steps by 11/8/23.

Linked HERE is the AAPS AP Test Payment & Registration Guide with the steps you must take in the next 7 days to avoid late fees.

Do you have a conflict with a testing date? Check the make-up testing dates via the link above and contact Mr. Cory Mcelmeel, mcelmeel@aaps.k12.mi.us to arrange for make-up testing if another one-time event conflicts with your AP testing date.

Email for Absences: pioattendance@aaps.k12.mi.us

We are seeing a rise of students arriving at the school under the weather. We encourage students and staff that are under the weather to stay home for the day. Coming to school and spreading germs causes the cycle of more staff and students to catch illnesses. It is best for everyone. Many assignments can be captured in Schoology. Students can easily communicate with teachers about work assigned and/or missed via email (Staff Directory) and within Schoology.

Attendance email: pioattendance@aaps.k12.mi.us

Please do not call the attendance line until further notice. We are planning to hire someone to cover that position; it is currently not filled. The position of Book Depository/Attendance Office Professional will be posted soon and we would love for someone connected to the Pioneer community to serve in that capacity.

Regular Schedule - Monday, Thursday, & Friday
