My last "Library News for Teachers" Newsletter
Well, its been a while since I sent a newsletter out, and here is my last newsletter for the school year. I have really enjoyed working with all of you this year. I appreciate your support during my first year as the library media specialist and through this pregnancy.
Ms. Tricia Burns will be the long term sub. She is a retired librarian from our district. I know that she will do an amazing job and that you all will make her feel very welcome here at MCE.
Research projects
Some of you may need books or iPads for upcoming student research projects. Please email me ASAP to let me know what books you might need and when. I would also like to let Ms. Burns know ahead of time too.
Overdue books and End of the Year Inventory
I am working diligently to collect overdue books. We need these books turned in so that we can do an end of the year inventory. During inventory, every single book on the shelf is scanned and it can be time consuming. Please have students check their backpacks, desks, cubbies, and classroom libraries for library books that need to be returned.
I am unsure at this time when or how Ms. Burns will be doing the inventory. She may limit student check out. I just want you to be aware of this ahead of time.
Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge
Our students will be participating in this Summer Reading Challenge again. Students will log in here at school, before the summer actually begins. You will receive more information about this a few weeks.
