BHS REOPENING APRIL 1ST & 2ND
We are excited that we will be opening school in a hybrid fashion beginning on April 1. We are working diligently to develop a schedule and details will follow soon. The hybrid schedule will be as follows:
Group A: Monday/Tuesday - Face-to-Face learning (in the classroom)*
Group B: Thursday / Friday - Face-to-Face learning (in the classroom)*
Wednesday - Connected Learning (online) for A & B
Cohorts will be determined by alphabetical order. We will make every attempt to keep siblings (regardless of school) on the same schedule. Please complete the Choice Form by Monday, 3/01 that was emailed to you on 2/24. If you have any problems with the form, please contact the main office at BHS. We can take your choice over the phone and input it for you.
As plans are developed, we will continue to communicate. Look for details on the schedule very soon. So happy to see our Knights in a few weeks!
MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOP 2.0
GSA's last workshop was great and thank you to those who attended last time. We talked about methods of self-care, and now we're moving to communication of our needs with loved ones and setting healthy boundaries.
Please join us March 8th at 4pm for our second Wellness Workshop. If you didn't attend the first one, that's ok. This one takes another direction of how to take care of ourselves in these stressful times.
If you are interested, email Ms. Krisher at: patty.krisher@bremertonschools.org and request the Zoom invite.
Hope to see you there!
LADY KNIGHTS TENNIS
Interested in playing Lady Knights Tennis this year? There will be an informational virtual meeting at 12:30pm on Wednesday, March 3rd. Coach Webb and Coach Webb will give you all the details you need for the season. The season starts on March 15th. Make sure your physical is up to date and get your paperwork turned in via FamilyID on the BHS website. To get the link to the meeting please join the Girls Tennis Remind by texting the message @kbbce to the number 81010. You can also email Coach Webb @ bryan.webb@bremertonschools.org.
2021 SEMANCIK DRIVE-THRU CRAB FEED
The Semancik Foundation is holding a drive-thru version of the famous ANNUAL CRAB FEED FUNDRAISER! It's going to be the same great crab we have every year, and the biggest Semancik fundraiser of the year, providing scholarships to BHS students! This drive-thru event will happen on March 6th, 3-6PM, at Minder Meats, 4921 Auto Center Blvd, Bremerton, WA 98312. Socially-distanced (you don't even need to get out of the car!), pre-paid, easy pickup. Delivery within Kitsap County available for an extra $20.
Either print and mail out the completed PDF (below) or fill out here. Someone from the Semancik Foundation will contact you to schedule payment and pick up.
NO ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MARCH 1ST, 2021
ATTENTION GALAPAGOS TRAVELERS!
Thank you for your patience over the last several weeks while we worked through our options for our tour. After much thought and careful consideration, I have decided it is best for our group to reschedule our trip given the uncertainly around the pandemic right now. The CDC places Ecuador at a Level 4 in terms of COVID risk and activity and this is unlikely to change significantly by July 2021.
While I am so sad that we will not be jetting off to Ecuador this summer, I am excited to let you know that we rescheduled our tour for summer in 2022; it will be the same itinerary at no additional cost. Because you were already enrolled in the trip for this year, EF will proactively move you over to our new tour. You do not need to worry about re-enrolling.
That being said, I understand 2022 may not be in the cards for everyone, so I want you to know that if you or your child cannot travel, you will have the option to receive an electronic Future Travel Voucher for all monies paid from EF. This option will be available online in your EF Traveler account. If you’d like to learn more about the voucher program, simply click this link , or visit Future Travel Voucher FAQs . You may also call EF’s traveler support department for remaining questions. You can redeem your voucher for another EF trip in the school (please see me if you have any questions of other trips) or another EF experience, including trips for individuals, graduating seniors and families. Vouchers are also transferable to a family member or a member of the school community. If EF’s Future Travel Voucher does not work for you as an option, you may request instead a cash refund of all monies you paid to EF less $500. There is no rush at all in making this decision, as you have until 110 days before our 2022 trip to decide not to travel and to choose the travel voucher instead. I hope you are all doing well and I look forward to traveling the world with you all in the future!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Jessica McBride at Jessica.McBride@bremertonschools.org. You can also try chatting with our dedicated team of Departure Specialists who are available to assist Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 7:30pm EST by calling 1-800-665-5364.

Students in the Achievers Program will receive support and guidance in the following areas of focus:
- Academic Advising
- College and Postsecondary Education Planning
- College Exploration
- Understanding College Fit and Match
- Financial Aid Navigation (FAFSA/WASFA)
- College Entrance Exams (SAT/ACT, Accuplacer, Compass Exams)
- College Applications
- College Scholarships
The Achievers Program is currently accepting 11th grade students who are interested in being a part of the program. You are receiving this email because I have identified your child as a student who would be a good fit for the program, and have already reached out to your child about joining the program as well. The program is selective and space is limited.
Participation in the Achievers Program includes monthly meetings, workshops and one on one support. Our program is designed to provide students and families with support on their college-going/post secondary journey. Please speak with your child and let me know if they are interested. The deadline to apply is Thursday, March 4th. If you are interested please contact me for application details. Also, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
I can be reached via email at dfoster@collegesuccessfoundation.org.
Thank you and take care,
