Canada 2050
How I think Canada's going to be in 2050
Aboriginal trends
3 Aboriginal trends
Aboriginal people that live in Canada or younger than older. The aboriginal people that live in Canada have a lot of kids in the age group of 14 and younger. The percentage of aboriginal under the age of 14 is around 28% and 7% of all the kids in Canada that is amazing. Non aboriginal that live in Canada under the age of 14 is only 16.5% which is more than 10% less than aboriginal kids. Aboriginal kids from the range of 15-24 is only 18.2% which I think is really high because 15-24 is 5 less years of data from 0-14. The government show that only 12.9% of Canada's non aboriginals are 15-24. About only 6% of aboriginals are 65+ which is not a lot, but Canada's non aboriginal population of 65+ is 14.2% which is a lot compared to the aboriginals. The data that the government shows, Makes me think that the aboriginals shouldn't be told to live on reserves because they have more or have almost the same amount of population.
Aboriginal people living in Canada is increasing and is going to reach an all time high. In 1996 the population of aboriginal people in Canada was only 2.8% which was really a small amount. Then after 5 year the population of aboriginals increased to an larger amount, which was 3.3% by 2001. In the next 5 years the government held a national household survey (NHS) and the result still increased again which was 3.8% in 2006. Then in 2011 the government try the NHS again and the population of aboriginal increased again and reached 4.3% which is 1,400,685 of Canada's population. The increase was happening so fast that from 2006 to 2011 the increase was 20.1% or 232,385 people in just 5 years. The largest amount of aboriginal people living in Canada was located in the western provinces like Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.
Aboriginal kids had to make living arrangements for where they will live and who they will live with. Aboriginal kids under the age of 14 had to live with a lot of arrangement, for example who they wanted to live with. The kids got to pick if they wanted to live with their two parents or with one parent. They also got to pick if they wanted to live with their grandpa or grandma or with foster parents. One-half of aboriginal kids age 14 and under were living in a family with both parents and three-quarters of non-aboriginal kid live with both parents. About only one-third of aboriginal kid live with a lone-parent or 34.4% these kids live with only their dad or their mom in a comparison only 17.4% of non-aboriginal kids live with their lone parent.
Immigration trends in Canada
The percentage of immigrants in Canada is increase and a very high rate. In 2011, Canada foreign born population which is the population of people born in a different country, without a citizenship was about 6,775,800 people. The number of foreign born people had represented 20.6% of Canada's total population. Between the time periods of 2006-2011 around 1,162,900 foreign born people immigrated to Canada. This increase of population brought Canada's foreign population 17.2% higher, and also brought the total population of Canada 3.5% high. The largest source of increase during the time periods of 2006-2011 Asia was Canada highest source of immigration. Although the immigration of many other counties like Africa, Caribbean, Central and South America had also increased a little bit.
The number of newcomer living in Canada in urban settlements. Almost 1.2 million people who immigrate to Canada have chosen to live in larger urban areas or metropolitan areas as some people call it. Metropolitan areas are like Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. These are the most populated cities in all of Canada, over three-fifths of the resent immigrant chose to move to the more larger urban settlements. Did you know that over one- third or 35.2% of Canada's total population lives in metropolitan areas. The resent studies show that over 32.8% of newcomers from 2006-2011 have settled in Toronto. Then in Montreal over 16.3% of newcomer settled there which is 189,700 that is 5% of Montreal's total population. Lastly in Vancouver the population of newcomers reach over 13.3% which equals 155,100 newcomer in Vancouver.
The immigrant that move to Canada are very young. Many people think that you have to be old in age to immigrate to another country nut studies show that from 2006-2011 the immigrants were very young. These studies show that seniors 65 and up only represented the smallest immigration arrivals to Canada. Then in second place came the people who were between the ages of 15 and 24 These people only represented 14.5% which is the middle immigration arrivals to Canada. Then in first place came the youngest age group 14 and younger this age group had the highest representation of arrivals to Canada which is 19.2%.
Canada's population
Canada's population has reach 35.16 million in 2013 which is just below the population of California. The amount of Canadian's 65 and up is almost reached 5 million that leave only 30 million of the rest for people under the age of 65. The population of Canadian's 65 and up has increased 14.1% between 2006-2011 which is 609,810 that almost double the population of the Bahamas. This rate of growth was more than double the 5.9% increase Canada faced as a whole. In comparison The number of kids from newborns-14 increased only 0.5% which is only 27,000 people. Therefore the number of seniors or people over the age of 65 has increased and has already caught up with the number of kids during the period of 2006-2011.
Canada has a larger amount of seniors but the five year age group before the senior has increased rapidly. The age group 60-64 years old experienced the fastest growth in all of Canada's age groups, increasing at 29.1%. This means that in the upcoming years Canada will increase the aging growth as the large baby boom generation. The baby booms from 1946 to 1965 has reached 65 or over. The first baby boom generation reached 65 years old by 2011 and by now have reached 68 years old.
Canada has the highest increase rate in the kids age 4 and under in almost 50 years. The population of kids 4 and under has increased 11% between the years of 2006 and 2011. This increase resulted because of a higher fertility rate or level, which was because of the higher amount of woman from 20-34 during the time period. This was the highest recorded growth rate since 1956 to 1961 which was the time period of the famous baby boom. It was also the highest growth rate of all age groups below the age of 50 from 2006 to 2011.
Aboriginal hardships
In 2050 I think that Canada's population of Aboriginals will decrease. The reason I think this will occur is because they will most likely face hardships while living on the government reserves. For example the government is always looking of ways to increase Canada's population. The government could possibly take away the reserves from the Aboriginal people and use it as housing. Which means the Aboriginal people will have to separate and move to houses or apartments. This will also change the education of the aboriginal people, the children will have to start going to public schools like Falling Broke or Rick Hansen. This will result in the aboriginals getting jobs and careers like working as a teacher, a doctor, etc. These are the three things I think will change the population of Aboriginals.
immigrants in Canada during 2050
The population of immigrants in Canada today has reached 97%, which is amazing. I think that by 2050 Canada's population of immigrants is going to decrease because the 97% of immigrants are going to have kids and the kids won't be immigrants. For example if two immigrants got married and had kids their kids won't be immigrants which will result in the population of immigrants to decrease. Immigrants move to another country for many reasons but one common reason is that the fact that immigrants want a better life. To get a better life the immigrants need to get a good job to provide for themselves and their families. I think that immigrants are only going to come to Canada if their career is at a high demand. For example in Canada today the career of a doctor or nurse is at high demand, so if someone that is a doctor is immigrating to another country, they will most likely come to Canada. I also think that immigrants are going to move to more urban settlements because there's more jobs, houses, population, and etc. Immigrants are in need of jobs, and a lot of Canada's jobs are in the city. For example stores, fast-food restaurants, teachers, and etc. In rural settlements the jobs are limited and don't pay as much, such as farming. In farming the immigrants have to work hard all year to grow a limited amount of crops. My cousin just immigrated to Canada and he lives in the city and has a job at a restaurant. I think because of immigration Canada is going to become the most diverse country. This will result in many people from different countries immigrating to Canada because of the diversity. If I was immigrating to a country I would immigrate to a country that accepts my cultures and beliefs. Not a country that kills or persecutes people for their cultures and beliefs.
