Happy New Year! I would like to extend best wishes to all for a happy and healthy new year. It’s a pleasure to see all of the children, teachers, and staff back at school after a long, well deserved break.
As we look ahead to the rest of the school year, we are unwavering in our focus to deliver the highest-quality education possible to each of your children. We do this to prepare them for a successful, productive life, empowered with the skills they need to chase their dreams.
Encourage your child to set high academic achievement goals as we enter the second semester. Also, please continue to support your child’s teachers and maintain open lines of communication between home and school.
As always, thank you for your continued support. Together we can help shape our children’s academic and social growth and development. We must never underestimate the power a home-school connection elicits. There are many exciting learning opportunities ahead, and we look forward to a successful and productive 2022.
As always, please contact the school regarding any questions you may have.

Library News
Happy New Year from Hairgrove Library!
As we begin 2022, I want to tell you how much I enjoy working with your children. Our Fall Book Fair broke a record for sales here at Hairgrove because you value and encourage reading in your homes. Thank you!
Hairgrove was also a record breaker for the number of students in our district who use the mobile library. The mobile library parks at the Chimney Hill Community Center from 12:30-2:30 and you can check out books, have a snack, and enjoy story time. Books checked out at the mobile library are returned to Hairgrove.
The spring mobile library dates are:
February 5
March 26
April 30
Happy Reading!
Mrs. Anderson
Art News
Happy New Year Hairgrove artists and families! As we start this new semester of 2022, let’s take the time to challenge ourselves creatively OUTSIDE of our Art Studio walls. There are endless ideas, but here are a few to get you started.
- Draw your hand three times in different positions
- Sketch what you see outside of a window in your home
- Create a ‘Found Object’ artwork from things you discover outside
- Use different colored spices to paint an artwork

News from the Gym
Hello Parents,
We are starting the year doing station activities, light gymnastics, football, and basketball activities. So as always, please refer to your child’s LAMP schedule to make sure they are wearing the proper footwear for gym class and that they have their water bottles for hydration. As an extra safety precaution, I am sanitizing student hands after equipment use as we did last year. I hope this will help to slow the transitions of germ from student to student.
Thanks!
Coach Dyson
Notes from Nurse Haley:
Welcome back Dolphins! As we return to school, I want to emphasize the importance of our health. There is a high transmission rate of the Omicron variant and we are doing everything we can to keep everyone safe. If your child is feeling sick, we ask that they stay home. The CDC changed its guidelines and our LEAD Safely plan has been updated. If tested positive for COVID, the recommended time for isolation has been shortened from 10 days to 5 days as long as symptoms are improving and no fever for at least 24 hours without fever reducing medications. The CDC also suggests wearing a mask for at least 5 days after the 5 day isolation when being around others to minimize the risk of infecting people they encounter.
Reminders:
Students need to stay home for a fever of 100 and above. May return to school with doctor clearance or negative laboratory COVID-19 test result and fever free for 24 hours without a fever reducer.
Please continue to monitor your child for any COVID-19 symptoms. People can still test positive without fever. If any symptoms occur, please keep children home and contact me for any questions or concerns. Here is our LEAD safely link for reference. https://www.cfisd.net/domain/2305
If you would like to have your child wear a mask at school, please continue sending them with a mask and extra mask in their backpack.
Pre-K and Kindergarten student parents: Please continue sending an extra set of clean clothes in the student's backpack.
