Ms. Vickers' Kindergarten Class
August 26-August 30
They Did It!!
We had lots of fun reading and singing Pete the Cat: The Wheels on the Bus!
This upcoming week, we will be reading and discussing Jon Gordon's The Energy Bus, about overcoming challenges and staying positive. IES has decided to make this book a focus in our school this year.
We read the book Only One You by Linda Kranz and discussed how each of us are special in our class. Everyone made their own unique fish to represent how we are all different.
Reminders and Important Information!
**The students are allowed to purchase ice cream from the cafeteria on Fridays for $1.00.
**Please help your child learn their car number to make dismissal run more smoothly :)
**Also, help your child with their pin number if they are buying trays from the cafeteria. I will be sending these numbers home on Monday.
Reading Tip of the Week
"Children feel confident and competent when they read books that are “just right.” But how do you find a “just right” book? Have your child read the back and front cover, and first page of the book. If there are more than five words that he cannot pronounce or understand in context, the book may be too challenging. Be supportive about finding a more perfect fit. Choosing the right book will help your little reader feel successful." -Scholastic.com
