Holly's Oily Update
June, 2016
Summer is Here! Get ready for the sun!
We all know how important sunscreen is and hopefully apply it like often! I somehow always manage to miss a spot. I found a great solution that is all-natural, safe for kids, and feels great! Making this After-Sun spray took all of 5 minutes, and that includes rounding up the ingredients! You will never use plain aloe vera gel again!
After-Sun Soothing Spray
You will need:
- 1- Empty 2-oz spray bottle (perfect use for those travel bottles you never use!)
- Clear, 100% Pure Aloe Vera Gel
- Young Living Lavender Essential Oil (you can add a little peppermint for a cooling feeling too)
- Distilled or Filtered Water
Directions:
Add aloe vera gel to the spray bottle until about 2/3 full. Drop about 10 drops of the Lavender Essential Oil into the bottle (add 5 drops of peppermint if desired). Fill the bottle the rest of the way with water, leaving a small space at the top for inserting the spray pump. Screw on the top, and shake, shake, shake! The mixture should be thick, but thin enough to be sprayed.
Apply all over any area that needs soothing, as often as desired. (Avoid spraying near eyes, nose or ears, spray some into your hand and rub on these areas.) For even more cooling, store the bottle in the fridge!
Bug Bite Relief
Last month I featured recipes to keep bugs away, and no matter how successful your bug spray may be, it's inevitable that one of this little suckers will still get you!
In a 10 ML roller bottle add 5-10 drops of Purification, Lavender, Peppermint and Frankincense. Top off with a carrier oil and apply to the bite. (optional add 5-10 drops of Tea Tree oil). It works well on mosquito, spider, other creepy crawly bites -- as well as heat rash or other skin rashes.
Get your fruit and veggies clean this summer!
Thieves Essential Oil Fruit and Veggie Wash and Spray is the perfect fruit and vegetable cleaner, soak and rinse. Natural fruit and vegetable wash and rinse made with the famous thieves essential oil that everyone loves so much!
Naturally derived plant based formula that is non-toxic, gentle and washes your fruits and veggies without harsh synthetic chemicals. It doesn't affect the taste and is great for conventional and organic produce.
The wash is great to soak berries, cherries, grapes, etc. The spray works well on apples, cucumbers, peppers., and so on. You will be amazed at what is left in the water when you use this soak.
I feel good knowing I am getting the produce my family is eating as clean as I can before they inhale it! I can't keep grapes in the house -- they're gone in a day, but I'll take it!
What am I ordering this month?
2. Idaho Blue Spruce - I love the "tree" oils for their scent, relaxing properties, and to add to pain relief recipes.
3. Raven - I rotate this with our lemon, lavender, and peppermint/rc for allergies.
4. Morning Start Shower Gel - I've heard great things about this and could use a pick me up in the morning.
5. Thieves detergent. I'm hooked. It cleans our clothes well and a tiny half cup goes a long way!
6. Citronella and Purification, I like to have these on hand for bug spray and bug bites.
7. Thieves, how am I almost out of Thieves?
This is subject to change as I generally change my Essential Rewards order 40 times before placing it :)
