STEPS FOR STUDENTS UPDATE!
Attached you will find a Catholic School Village Map and some Race Day Question and Answers from the Archdiocese. Our tent will be the FIRST tent to the right at the official drop-off area. We will be set up and ready around 7AM. The race starts at 8AM. Look for our banner and red FATIMA tablecloth! Bring a chair!
Also, just to clarify some questions we have had, please see below:
Q: Was there a separate school registration deadline and a separate STEPS FOR STUDENTS deadline?
A: YES! We extended our registration deadline at the school for purposes of having 100% covered and registered. The official online registration closed earlier this week, and not everyone was able to get in during that deadline. However, those that paid the $25 through the school were still considered "registered" by the office so that your child could attend the SOCK HOP. This means that only those who were officially registered online were eligible to receive a shirt for this weekend. HOWEVER, we are working with the CSO offices to try and get shirts for EVERYONE, even those who didn't make the first deadline! If we are able to get more shirts, we will get those passed out ASAP.
Q: I didn't receive my shirt the first time they were passed out. Will I get a shirt?
A: The first shirt pick up was over a week ago, and most of our school was registered after that deadline. The second shirt pick up was today, but due to all the on campus activities, we were unable to get to the Archdiocese to pick those up. The shirts should be available for pick up tomorrow when we arrive, but if not, they will be mailed to us in the next few weeks. If you officially registered online, you should get a shirt. If you do not, please email the office, and we will submit your name to receive a new one.
Q: If I don't have a STEPS shirt, but I am attending, what should I wear?
A: Please wear a FATIMA spirit shirt if you are not wearing a STEPS shirt! Let's show some school pride!
Hope to see you all there! Again, thank you to everyone for making this year's STEPS another great success! 100% registration is great!
PLEASE HELP!
TRACK SEASON IS STARTING!
Practice will be EVERY Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:30-4pm. On Wednesday and Friday there will ONLY be practice if Coach Kirby is available to stay. Please remember that all of the coaches helping this year are doing so on a volunteer basis, and we have to help them with practice times as much as we can too! WEEKLY practice schedules will go out as soon as we can release them, depending on the coaches ability to stay and help. However, there will be practice at least 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).
Competitive Level is open to grades 4-8 who qualify. Elementary Level is open to grades 3-5 who qualify. Once a week the track practice will be open to grades 1-3 to come and practice running. There will be more information about this released, but if you are interested, please email Coach Lopez or Coach Kirby just to let them know you are interested. This once a week running practice will be set skills for running and working out. Students in this category must qualify and exhibit behaviors to show they are there to run and learn the art of running.
