Hello Prairie High!

Labor Day is a sure sign that the school year is in full swing and we all are settling into our new schedules. I hope each of you enjoyed your long weekend and were able to enjoy the beautiful weather today.

The Homecoming dance will be held on September 24th from 7pm-10pm in the PHS Cafe. The PHS Student Council is excited to reveal that the theme is On Cloud 9. It is important to note that tickets are pre-sale only and will be available for purchase for $12 at the PHS School Store from September 15 - 22; tickets will NOT be available for purchase at the gate.

If you are planning to bring a guest, please pick-up a Homecoming Dance Guest Request Form in the Dean's Complex. Forms are due back with approval by Wednesday, September 21 by 4pm.

As StuCo releases additional information it will be posted in The PHS Post and on monitors around the school.

Enjoy Every Moment!

How has PHS made a difference today?

Our mission at Prairie High School is to make every minute for our students:

  • Productive
  • Healthy
  • Safe

Throughout this school year I encourage families, students, and staff to ask the question: How has PHS made a difference today?

Productive: How have staff and students worked side-by-side building skills and capacity to take on the challenges of tomorrow?

Healthy: How have students been supported throughout school in making healthy choices to set their minds and bodies up for success?

Safe: How has a safe and secure environment been maintained for learning and growth to flourish?

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens October 1, 2022

The FAFSA is the form seniors will need to complete to be eligible for any financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college. Each year, over 13 million students who file the FAFSA get more than $120 billion in grants, work-study, and low-interest loans from the U.S. Department of Education. Many colleges will also use the FAFSA to determine which students get financial aid—and how much they’ll get.

Prairie High School will be hosting FAFSA Workshops throughout the fall to support students and families in completing the FAFSA. Dates and registration information coming soon!
