Reading & Fluency Interventions
Interventions One Student At A Time @ 941.924.6373
Talking about reading can help pinpoint the problem areas of it. It allows for insight and creates the conversation about whether intervention is a good idea.
So What is Reading?
Reading is a man-made event and for some it comes automatically and for others it does not. For students who find learning how to read to be laborious, uninteresting, confusing and overly consuming, it brings emotional fatigue because it uses an enormous amount of brain power to get through a word, a sentence, a page, a chapter, a test, etc.

The Phono-Graphix® reading method has been proven 98% effective at addressing reading problems at any age or ability level. Phono-Graphix® is research-based, developmentally appropriate, simple and concrete. Our powerful intervention program addresses the fundamental skills of decoding, encoding, auditory processing, code knowledge, multi-syllable management and sequencing. An extra benefit to training with Phono-Graphix® reading method is improved spelling. (12-24 sessions)
NeuroNet is a research-based learning readiness program designed to help students develop core academic skills and become independent and fluent learners for 4 year old to - 13 year old learners. NeuroNet exercises provide structured, sequential exercises for perceptual-motor development which lays the foundation for automating basic academic skills; e.g., handwriting, reading decoding, and math-fact retrieval. If basic academic skills of handwriting, reading decoding, and math-fact retrieval are not automated, it places greater demands on a child’s attentional-resources, which may lead to poor academic performance or behavioral and emotional problems. (Typically, 6-9 months as a home program, but can be incorporated with Phono-Graphix® sessions).
Master The Code is usually for the older student and recognizes that some students do not bring sufficient cognitive skills to the task of learning the reading code quickly and efficiently. A student who has an auditory processing deficiency concentrates differently which usually equates to slower work, inadequate memory skills, or does not create solid mental images, which reduces retention. MTC combines memory, sequencing, visualization, segmenting, blending, auditory processing, attention, immediate feedback and sequencing to create a simultaneous reading process. An extra benefit to MTC training is improved spelling. (24 sessions)
Read Naturally is for K-8th grade learners who need more directed reading practice to build fluency while expanding knowledge base. It focuses on Increasing reading accuracy and expression with audio support, strengthens comprehension and vocabulary, and develops automaticity in decoding. The practice leads to more independence so the student experiences success and an improved attitude toward reading. (12-24 sessions)
Sound Reading Solutions is for pre-readers and struggling readers who need at-home practice developing the ability to hear and process sounds in the brain first (auditory processing) and then teaches a student how to match the sounds to letters. (Daily at home practice with monitoring.)
