The Weekly Hoot
June 10-16, 2013
Greetings All -
I hope everyone is resting up from the fair if they were involved with it and enjoying their second week of summer vacation! We had a busy week around here last week! A group of us met on Tuesday to review grading policies, and I believe we have tweaked our current policies to satisfy all. More on that as Christy and I get the policy revised and rewritten. We also had our first construction meeting with the architects last week. With the new construction, we are going to be able to get everyone under one roof! No more walking outside to art and music. We meet again on Tuesday, June 18th when we go over the changes in the drawings based on our recommendations. Last week we also had teacher interviews for the 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade positions. As soon as our three people have come and signed contracts, which should be tomorrow, I will get their names and a little bio out to all of you! I am excited about our new hires. They seem awesome! As far as getting into your rooms, because believe it or not, some of you are already askng (!), the guys have begun to strip and wax floors in the red hall this week. There is no set time schedule, but they should be finished by the end of June. If you call up here, we can let you know if you are able to get to your room if you are planning on coming. Lastly, as you all found out in your email from Brandon last week, we are losing Kimberly Holloway to Central Office. I am excited for Kimberly and her chance at advancement, but at the same time you know I am having a little bit of a pity party because who in the world is going to take care of me like she has?? And all of you for that matter?? I think I have come up with someone that will do as good of a job. Jennifer Corzine will be taking Kimberly's position in the elementary office. Jennifer is excited about the move and is beginning work this week so as to make it an easy transition. Now all I have to figure out is how to let both Jennifers in the front office know which one I am yelling for from my office when I need something! LOL! We will have to figure out code names for them. This week I am looking at applications to take Jennifer Corzine's spot as the Special Education Instructional Assistant. As soon as that position is secured, I will let you all know. Everyone have a super week. Today and tomorrow are my only days in the office this week because Christy and I will be going to the Texas Elementary Principal and Supervisors Association Convention in Austin on Wednesday-Friday. If you need anything at all, please let me know. I am only an email, phone call, or text away!
Soaring with you this year,
Marcy
