First Grade Gazette

News and Events from your First Grade Caprock Teachers

Where has the time gone?? It is already halfway through the year! It has been AMAZING watching your kiddos grow and learn like they have. As we are pushing through the second half of this school year remember that it is still important to read every night! This helps build reading confidence, practice and fluency! The more we read the more places we go! So please keep encouraging your child to read at least 10 minutes at night.

Thank you for all that you do for you kids and for our school! We have the best families at Caprock!

100th Day of School

The 100th day of school is quickly approaching! This is such a fun day in 1st grade and in order to make it even more fun we need a few donations. We do lots of yummy activities and need donations of

Mini Marshmallows
Plain M&Ms
Fruit Loops
Pretzel Sticks
Chex Cereal

If you can supply them by February 4th it would be greatly appreciated.

100th Day Mystery Project

We will also be doing a mystery project for the 100th day. Your student needs to fill a 20oz bottle of 100 items...buttons, beans, feathers, etc. They need to write a riddle describing their items and will present it to the class to try and guess. Be creative and have fun! The supplies needed will be the item of your choice and the plastic bottle.

A paper sack and the riddle paper will be sent home with your child's teacher.

If you have any questions! Let us know!

have fun!
