Important Change for Next Year


In an effort to increase safety for students, beginning next year students may no longer be dropped off in the back of the school. Any student who doesn't ride the bus must be dropped off and picked up in the front of the building. Thank you.

Attention Current 6th Grade Parents

The following immunizations are required by The State of Texas for 7th grade. Updated shot records are being accepted throughout the school year. It is highly recommended that shots are received and the shot record turned in prior to the end of the 6th grade school year. 7th grade schedules will be held and students may not start school without these shots.

8th Grade Celebration

The 8th Grade End-of-Year Celebration is just around the corner!

Date: Friday, May 20th

Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm

Location: HMS

Theme: “The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades”, with everything Hollywood- inspired to celebrate our “Stars’ ” bright futures at CHHS!

Our 8th grade “celebrities” will enter the HMS SAC on a red carpet to enjoy party attractions including an Inflatable Dodgeball Arena, Giant Inflatable Twister, Pinball, Pac-Man, Galaga, Pump It Dance Machine, DJ and music, a Selfie Station and door prizes. They’ll chow down on pizza, snacks, and an all-you-can-eat Candy Buffet. All students who attend will go into the drawings for some fabulous door prizes and receive a special party souvenir. And, as added entertainment, there will also be a special Teacher Lip Sync performance!!!

Your 8th grader won’t want to miss this!

Ticket information: Tickets are $25. Please print off the attached order form, complete it, and drop it off at the front office with your payment of cash or check. Tickets can be purchased all next week or at the door, but make sure to get yours early (please make checks payable to HMS PTA). Also, we will have a sales table set up in the SAC during the 8th grade lunches the week of May 9th - 13th, where your student can turn in their form and payment.

Volunteering/Donations: We also need volunteers!!!!! There are several opportunities to help - anyone who wants to volunteer or donate party items, please use the following SignUp Genius link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0B4EADAD22A64-8thgrade1 .

Soccer - The HMS Soccer travel teams play their last matches Tuesday, May 17th at HMS against Colleyville Middle School. Boys play at 6:15 PM and girls play at 5:00 PM.

  • Tuesday, May 17 - Beginner Band Rehearsal at 7:00 AM in HMS Band Room.
  • Tuesday, May 17 - HMS Bands Spring Concert 7:30 PM at CHHS Auditorium
  • Friday, May 20 - Pep Rally 2:30 PM in HMS Big Gym -- All 6th and 7th graders will perform (optional for 8th graders). Parents are welcome to attend!

Save the Date - First Ever HMS Fun Run

HMS Spirit Wear Orders

Show your Bronco Pride and support the PTA by ordering an HMS t-shirt. Print out the order form, fill it out and send it back to school with cash or check made out to HMS PTA. Your child can turn the order form in at the front office. Spirit wear items will be sent home with your student within a few days of placing the order. Questions? PTA Membership

Join HMS PTA and help us make this year the best yet! All you need to do is print this registration form and have your student leave it with your check, made out to HMS PTA, in the office. This form also gives you the opportunity to participate in our Bronco Bucks fundraiser. Bronco Bucks means no door-to-door sales for our Broncos! Volunteers Needed

Hello PTA parents! Would you like to get involved at HMS as a volunteer? Please contact Mary Ellen Blackstone at meblackstone@gmail.com. We have many opportunities to get involved as a parent volunteer. Even if you aren't able to commit to a regular volunteer schedule we can still use your help. At HMS there are many different programs and activities that need assistance. Please send Mary Ellen a note and let her know you are interested in being in the volunteer pool.
