From the Principal
This week, the kindergarten and first grade classes had a Fire Safety presentation. This presentation included 3 adorable black lab dogs. The students learned about fire safety and got to pet cute dogs. They had a great time. I have included some pictures below.
Fall parties are coming up soon. They will take place on Friday, October 29th. Due to Covid and us limiting our visitors inside the building, parents will not be able to attend the classroom celebrations. Pre-packaged snacks will be permitted. In addition to classroom celebrations, students will be having a character costume parade starting at 2:30. Parents can attend this parade, it will be outside along the front sidewalks. Following the parade, please plan to stay and enjoy a snack and hear information about what being a Title One school means to your child's education while our students are in their classrooms celebrating fall.
A few details about your child's character costume:
* Please, no masks to prevent students from easily seeing to walk the parade route.
* "Merry not scary" character costumes, please.
* We ask that students not bring make up that would need to be applied, because of limited time.
* There will be time for your child to change into their character costume right before their parade.
Have a great weekend!

Destination Imagination
Jonathan Alder will be hosting a Destination Imagination (DI) program in our Elementary through Junior High schools for the 2021-2022 School Year!
DI is a national competition program that engages participants in project-based challenges that are designed to build confidence and develop extraordinary creativity, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills. The goal is for our students to be inspired and equipped to achieve anything they can imagine in life. That means students have a fun learning experience that is kid-powered STEM centric and team driven. This friendly competition motivates teams to reach for the stars while also rooting for each other and celebrating differences in ideas. If your child is interested in participating please fill out this form, to participate as a Team Manager or volunteer please fill out this form. More information about DI can be found here.
