Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks is know through out the United States for her refusal to give up her seat to a white passenger in Montgomery, Alabama. Later one she was arrested for her refusal to surrender to the bus drivers order. When asked about the refusal later Rosa Parks merely commented that she did not refuse because she was physically tired but that she was tired of giving in. On the day of her trial , Monday December 5, 1955, Members of the African-American society agreed to boycott public transportation including buses, taxis, and other public transportation. Her quote when all this happened was"At the time I was arrested, I had no idea it would turn into this. It was just a day like any other day. The only thing that made it significant was that the masses of the people joined in."
