Happy Holidays!
From your friends at Veterinary Cancer Specialty Care
This month at VCSC Seattle:
As this year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank all of you for your support and patience in the last several months. As a fledgling practice, there are many bumps to navigate along the road, even with our experienced staff at hand. Our ambitions are great, with dreams of creating a clinic that will make waves in the fight against cancer. None of this would be possible without the confidence that you have so steadily put in us. We cannot begin to thank you enough for believing in our dream - this is an ugly disease, but working together, we can make a difference in the lives of so many pets. As we step forward through the door to 2016, let us do so together. We have a strong team with a compassionate view of animal care and healing. With your confidence in our dreams, we know that 2016 will be a magnificent year as we strive to discover the most innovative means of treating cancer.
Featured pet of the month: Molly
Best wishes for our dear patient, Molly! She is a 12-year-old spayed female border collie that is traveling the world with her owners on their sailboat. She came to us in August with a large 10 cm mass effect in the region of her left anal gland, causing 80% compression of her rectal opening and deviation of the sphincter to the right side. She was started on an oral chemotherapy, Palladia, and has been having rechecks around the globe ever since to monitor her success. She is enjoying life and chasing coconuts in the waves at each stop. Right now, she is soaking up the sunshine in Brazil! We are so thankful for the extra amazing time Molly is having. Safe travels!
Santa "Claws" came to visit us on a quick break from the north pole!
Our dear and darling patients, and their friends, got to spend a little quality time with Saint Nick on his quick detour through Seattle, leading up to the holiday season. Everyone made the "nice" list, and had very similar desires for Christmas this year - the number one Christmas wish was decidedly biscuits! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out to give Santa a warm welcome - and thank you to our furry friends for being on their very best behavior. We're looking forward to more future visits from the jolly old man in red!
