RRCS Parent Newsletter
Volume 1 Number 3 (May 22, 2020)
We pray that you all are staying safe and healthy during this pandemic. It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of another year already! This last quarter has been challenging as we navigated a new normal away from the traditional school setting. I want to thank all of you for your support, for providing spaces for students to complete assignments and be engaged with their teachers and for ensuring we stayed connected during this remote learning period. I don't believe that we have seen the last of the remote learning and I know we are more prepared as a result of this to tackle the continued challenges that this pandemic will create.
As we close out the school year, I want to share some information with you that will answer questions about report cards, graduation for the class of 2020, returning items to school, picking up instruments, picking up medications and cleaning out lockers. Please take a moment to review the information to ensure a smooth process.
We hope you all enjoy the short break from school. Right now, the county is in the process of revamping the year-round calendar. Please expect changes to the start date and end date for the 2020-2021 school year. As soon as the Board approves the revisions information will be shared with you. This of course is contingent on guidance from state and local health officials and our Board of Education.
Yours in Education,
Felix M. Keyes

Students in grades 9th-11th will have the option of keeping their final numeric grade to be counted in their GPA or receive the PC19 (passing) or WC19 (not passing) grade. A form will be sent home in the report card for parents and students to sign stating their wishes for the final grade. They may choose which grades they keep and which ones they prefer the passing or failing code. These forms will need to be returned to the school during the summer or at the start of the new school year. Forms should be returned to Rangel McLaurin, HS Counselor.
