Principal Post
January 2017
Principal Points
We are planning an amazing 2017 for our students. The month of January will bring our middle of year assessment of all students in reading and math. These assessments are given individually, small and whole group depending on the assessment. We are excited to see our student growth from the the beginning of the year. In February, teachers will offer parents optional parent conferences to review results from mid-year assessments.
Cold Season
As we are entering the winter months, here are a few reminders of school policies:
1. We will call parents to pick students up with a fever of 100 or higher. Students should remain at home until they are fever free for twenty-four hours without medication to keep the fever down.
2. Encourage your child to wash their hands and cough into their elbows frequently.
3. Students with pink eye are expected to have taken a dose of the prescribed medication before they can return to school.
Written notices for absences
If your child is absent, please send a written note with your child when they return to school.
Phone calls to classrooms
We realize that emergencies come up and parents will need to speak with their child's teacher. Please limit phone calls to the classrooms for same day information that need to be relayed to teachers. We are working hard to protect instructional time for our students and teachers. Please utilize e-mail for matters that are not time-sensitive.
Updated phone numbers
With the arrival of winter and the possibility of inclement weather, please make sure we have updated phone numbers for you and your emergency contacts. Please call the front office to report updated contact information if needed.
Morning car rider line
We ask that our students exit in the mornings only on the passenger side and stay on the sidewalk. Please be mindful of our students walking down the sidewalk while you are in the drop off line. Please remember to pull as far forward as you can in the driveway
Inclement weather
In case of inclement weather the phone call will come from Chatham County Schools and not Perry Harrison, hence its important that we have updated contact information.
