New School Year Begins

The first day was very different from any other first day Big Spring has ever seen. As the students entered the building teachers welcomed them to a new year. During passing periods, music would be playing in the halls to bring a calm feeling to the students. The day was then capped off with a pep rally! Students gathered in the gym to learn about different clubs in the school, learn cheers for sporting events, and to watch the Bulldog do a dance with the high school principal and resource officer!
Big picture

"Everybody Loves Bulldog"

A new short film has come to Big Spring High School! The film, produced by a Big Spring Alum, is about the love for school spirit and pride. During the filming, students were given the opportunity to be extras! Some scenes only included the football team and band but others included anyone who wanted to attend. This was a great opportunity not only for the public to see our amazing school but for the students to see a professional work environment.

Stem Summit

The Stem Summit came back to Big Spring for another exciting year. For those who do not know, STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Every year the freshman get introduced to these fields with fun activities and challenges. By being apart of this program, Big Spring is pushing their students to get interested in the growing STEM fields.

Back To School Night

This year Big Spring tried something new to increase parent participation for the back to school night. Before the home football game on September 14th, each of the departments from the high school set up tables where they could meet their student's parents. This new format of a back to school night was a major success leaving many teachers and parents happy!

Hershey Commercial

With the help of Student Council, Hersey Chocolate Company filmed a commercial right here at Big Spring High School! The commercial featured new students to the high school and how we tried to welcome them with open arms. Click the link below to watch it!

Student Events

Mini THON Fundraiser

Student Council at Big Spring decided the kick-off event for this school year would be held at the local Cumberland Drive-In. Half of the proceeds generated from the Drive-In that night went to our Mini-THON fund for this year. With the event being over the summer the students in Student Council had to work very hard to get the word out of the event. Their success was obvious when it turned out that it was one of the busiest nights the Drive-Ins had all summer!
