IMPORTANT ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
If your child is absent from school, please make sure to provide written documentation to our Attendance Clerk, Mrs. Kinsey, The excuse note(s) needs to include a doctor's note or a parent note with the reason your child was absent and the date(s) that he/she missed from school.
An excuse note can be provided in the following ways:
- Email to Mrs. Kinsey at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Email or fax directly from medical provider to 803-722-5521
- Provide a handwritten note to the attendance office the day the student returns to school
- Go to our CMS website and submit student excuse form
Please make sure that your student has notified his or her teacher if they are absent more than 2 days during the week so that they are aware of any missed assignments.
Also, please let Mrs. Kinsey know if your student has been medically diagnosed with the FLU so that we can track this information.
COLLEGE READINESS & CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Columbia College is pleased to announce that Math and Science Day for Middle School Girls will be Saturday, February 15! Be on the lookout for future emails with more event details or visit our website: columbiascmathandscienceday.weebly.com.
Math and Science Day is a day of collaboration, competition, creativity, and celebration of women in mathematics and the sciences. Middle school girls will participate in hands-on workshops and team competitions throughout the day. Previous workshops have discussed topics including blood, DNA, computer science, exponential equations, geometry and much more all in a fun and engaging way!
Don’t miss out on this opportunity! The cost for students and guardians is $13 each. Teachers that attend are free. Again, stay tuned for more information. We look forward to seeing you and your students next month!
