SAT Test at Northwood Canceled
Attention Juniors and Seniors planning to take the SAT at Northwood School:
This week we received the following message from Northwood:
Our office wanted to give you an early heads up that the March 12th open SAT to be held at Northwood has been cancelled. Due to athletic team travel and other commitments, Northwood will administer a School Day SAT for its students only.
If you have students who registered for the March 12th exam, they should receive a refund of the fee from College Board. They will need to register online again for a future test and pay the fee again.
We hope we can successfully offer an open SAT at some point in the future.
Attention 9th and 10th Graders!
All 9th and 10th grade students heard a presentation about Upward Bound a couple of weeks ago at school.
The Upward Bound Program at SUNY Plattsburgh is a longstanding college access and success program, with the mission of assisting students to attend and graduate from college. Upward Bound is currently seeking motivated 9th & 10th grade students who have the dream of attending college after high school!
Interested students are encouraged to apply before Feb. 18th! You can see Program info, eligibility criteria, and fill out our "New Student Application" online through the "Apply" tab on our website at: www.ubplattsburgh.org. Or, click or use your phone camera to scan the QR code, to take you right to the website.
You can contact program counselor Julie Coon at 518-564-2030 or julie.coon@plattsburgh.edu with any questions!
COVID Update: Returning to School
- If a student tests positive, they will isolate for a minimum of five days following the date of the positive test.
- Students may return to school after their 5th day of isolation if they are symptom-free.
- When a student returns after a positive diagnosis, they will be asked to wear a well-fitting mask, through Day 10. Extra masks are available in the main office.
- They will eat lunch in an alternate supervised location through Day 10, to avoid any potential exposure during that time.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
6th Grade Volleyball
- Dates are February 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, and March 2, 7, and 9
Educational Leave
Again this year, LPMHS is proud to offer our Educational Leave Program for student-athletes who participate on teams that train and compete at the state and national levels in sports that are not school-sponsored (NYSEF sports, luge, bobsled, speed skating, figure skating, travel hockey, etc.). This program is designed to provide educational support for student-athletes who must miss classes to train and compete in their sport.
If your child is planning on participating in NYSEF sports or any other outside sport this year, and will need to miss school to do so, please fill out the Educational Leave Request form and email it to Ms. Amy Spicer, LPMHS Educational Leave Coordinator: aspicer@lakeplacidcsd.net. She will also be happy to answer any questions you may have about the program. Please note that the form needs to be submitted to Ms. Spicer five school days in advance of your child’s leave.
