Illegally Downloading
How would you like to work without being payed?
What is illegal downloading?
Lots of the content on the internet is free to download. However, that does not mean that all content is free. Illegal downloading involves downloading things like games, music, tv shows and software without having permission. Anyone doing this is breaking the law.
Piracy it's a crime
The consequences of breaking the law
If you illegally download something you can have to pay from up to 1 million dollars! And not everyone has that sort of money. People that are found downloading anything illegally can have these things happen to them:
- Have to pay at least $150,000 per file
- Up to 5 years in jail
- The creator of whatever you downloaded can push extra fines on your already existing pile of money
Some pictures that say it all
Think about it
What the picture says is true so what I'm trying to say is... Just don't do it!
Realise it
I know I put a comic strip up, but this sort of thing can happen to you and I. It sadly happens a lot.
Listen to it
This will or at least should appear on your screen when downloading illegally. Everyone that does it has seen it, so why don't you listen? You won't get in trouble for doing the right thing.
Freaky Facts
- The most illegally downloaded thing is movies
- Luckily, in 2009 and 2010 Australia was not in the top ten of countries that illegally download
- In the UK 1.2 billion songs were illegally downloaded
- 26% of all australians last year illegally downloaded
Don't Copy That Floppy (Official Video - Digitally Remastered)
Do you get it now?
What I'm trying to say is, illegal downloading is wrong and can do serious damage to your bank balance and the creators of whatever you download. So don't copy or download anything illegally and do the right thing.
