3rd Grade Mrs. Strohpaul's Class
Mid October Update
Updates and Important Information
I look forward to seeing you all at conferences on Wednesday or Thursday of this week! Feel free to bring your child with you! Anything I share with you at conferences, your child already knows about him/herself. It is nice to have them along to hear celebrations and how they can continue to grow in 3rd grade.
Reading
Students have at least 15-20 minutes of reading each day for homework. Continue to help us build strong readers by checking your child's reading log and making sure they being responsible for their reading! We have already come such a long way as readers :)
This next unit of study focus on the characters in our stories. Their characteristics, feelings, emotions, actions, and dialogue help us to really understand the character. This would be a great discussion topic for at home.
Math
We are going to continue to build our math fluency in addition and subtraction, place value, and understanging. Our next unit will also focus on measurement, perimeter, and the beginnings of mulitplication!
Writing
We have just wrapped up our first writing unit for personal narratives and will take a week or two to explore and write poetry! I can't wait for the creativity to start flowing.
Food Bank
Every Monday t is located at Frederic’s Township building and open from 4:00 until 5:30 every Monday that school is in session. Families can call Clyde for any further information: 989.344.3624.
Halloween Day
The Halloween parade is on Friday, October 31st at 1pm! Afterward we plan to have some creative fun and food. Please bring in your favorite board game to play in the classroom. Mrs. Strohpaul also have a couple of creative games planned that involve toilet paper and jumbo marshmellows! :)
As for snacks, please see the attached list and send back your choice if you are able to donate any items for the party. I will confirm your choice so that we don't end up with a table full of cupcakes and cookies!
