Bell to Bell - Term 2
Here is our goal:
100% of students in their classrooms and ready to learn when the bell rings in each period throughout the day.
During the 10 min passing periods (which gives enough time to not only get to class but use the restroom if needed as well):
- 5 minutes until start: Our campus supervisors and admin team will start moving students out of common areas and toward classes.
- 3 minutes until start: A chime will sound across the campus as an audial cue to students to begin to enter classrooms.
- 3 minutes until start: When the chime sounds, teachers are asked to have doors opened and/or greet at the door.
- 1 minute until start: A Mustang stampede will sound across the campus as a final notice that we are ready to learn.
- Start of Class: The bell rings and our Mustang community is learning.
- Class instruction with active participation and student talk/high engagement goes bell to bell
- Don't forget - use bathrooms during passing period and at lunch. Teachers are asked to minimize bathroom use during class time and only send one at a time when absolutely necessary. All students out of class MUST have a pass or they will be sent back to class.
We can make this an even better term than last and have even better student outcomes. Let's do this together as One Trail!
Filipino American History Month Oct. 1-31, 2021
Elk Grove Unified School District proudly recognizes Filipino American History Month (Oct. 1 - 31, 2021). Our EGUSD family celebrates the social, intellectual, and economic contributions of Filipinos and Filipino Americans in the United States. The Filipino American community is the third largest Asian American group in the United States, with an estimated population of 4,200,000 people, and second largest Asian American group in California. The earliest documented evidence of Filipinos in the continental United States occurred on October 18, 1587, when mariners under Spanish command, referred to as “Luzones Indios,” landed in Morro Bay, California.

Conflict Mediation - refer someone else or self refer
Struggling students? Reporting incidents or concerns
- connect with adults and seek help
- refer students in "drama" or in "need" to conflict mediation
- seek help by connecting with counselors or admin as needed
Students can self refer to conflict mediation as well. See the form above for referrals.
Remind students of our Anonymous Incident Reporting system on our website. It allows for anonymous reporting of bullying, self harm, violence, harassment and more. If the person allows us, we can also communicate two way to get additional details while they still remain anonymous if they choose.
If you see something, say something
There have been small groups of students doing damage not only to our campus but to businesses as well. In addition, a few have unfortunately been misrepresenting while interacting with adults in the community, too. Then, we add the damage and problems associated with the Tik Tok challenges and the poor behaviors on InstaGram to the problem. This is not how any of us want our school represented and it paints such a bad picture when this is such a great place to be.
Yet, we know there are so many more students, several thousands at MT, who are doing the right thing and representing MTHS in an awesome light! We are so proud of you and thank you for having Integrity, Respect and Confidence building up the Community!
So to help us continue this, please remember to tell an adult if you see something so that we can help everyone on our campus and off campus as well. And, keep doing what is right Mustangs and treat others how you would expect to be treated. You Matter and All of our Mustangs and Community Matter. Let's show the world how great it is to be a Mustang!

NO BACKPACKS or track bags allowed in stadium and more...
Secondary Education and high school and middle school principals met this week regarding football games in EGUSD. As a reminder, we would like to review best practices to keep our games safe and manageable. These practices include:
- NO backpacks will be allowed.
- Attendees are expected to sit in the stands and watch the game.
- Middle school students should be accompanied by an adult, and have their student i.d. This includes Jr. Mustangs.
- There will be no in and out allowed at the stadium.
This will be consistent at all HS Football games in EGUSD and is not only at MTHS.
Thank you for your time, and for supporting our great football teams!

COVID
Daily to protocols:
- Wear Masks indoors - mandatory regardless of vaccination status
- Hand wash and sanitize often - entrance/exit of rooms
- Have up to date daily seating charts/group charts, and accurate attendance records - this matters so much
- Do not come to school if you have symptoms - staff contact admin and students/families contact the school for admin to then follow protocols directed by nurses in contact with the county and health authorities
- Recommended wear masks in large groups outdoors - our lunch and passing periods for example
- Help remind students of the protocols as you pass by and in your classrooms/offices, etc.
