Triduum Reminders and Mass Times

A Note from the Principal

Dear St. Clare Families,

Thank you for taking the time to send in your Registrations for 2023-2024 Enrollment. Please be sure to follow-up with the Parish Office if you have any questions about tuition for this upcoming year. Also, be sure to fill out the Tuition Assistance Information to see if you qualify for additional support. I will include a link for you below.

As we enter into the Sacred Triduum, I would like to share with you how special this time of year is for Catholics. After 40 days of prayer, reflection, and hopefully gaining a deeper appreciation for God, we move into Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday is a day where we celebrate Jesus triumphantly entering the city of Jerusalem. He is met and greeted by adoring followers only to be betrayed by a dear friend a few days later. In celebrating the Last Supper and the washing of the feet, we also remember those called to the Priesthood.

Holy Thursday is a time for us to remember those who give of their efforts to lead us as a faith-filled people closer to God. Thank you to Fr. Brian, Fr. Carl, Deacon Ken, Deacon Mike Z, and Deacon Mike M for their leadership and counsel. Thank you also to those in Seminary and all the religious men and women who are role models of our faith. May God continue to guide them as leaders, exemplars, and teachers.

Good Friday is the only day out of 365 that no Catholic Masses are celebrated anywhere in the entire world. Instead, we are called together to pray during a sacred prayer service in remembrance of the Death of Jesus. We journey with Jesus through the Passion and are called to remember His total and full sacrifice for our salvation.

Holy Saturday is a day of anticipation and waiting. Sometimes it is referred to as Silent Saturday,. The idea is that we are called to be at a calm state of our grief to process the events of the Passion. The Disciples were confused, angry, and terrified after the crucifixion. Many feared that they would be next in the harsh persecution of the Roman's. Holy Saturday reminds us to practice the virtue of patience, but also the virtues of prudence, temperance, and fortitude. May we be patient in our longing, prudent in our choices, tempered in our judgment, and strong in our convictions of seeking the Truth about Jesus as our Savior.

The Vigil leading into Easter Sunday brings us on a journey through the darkness of the tomb and into the light of His presence. We are called to walk into the light of His resurrection and begin or faith renewed with the joyful hope of the Easter promise. It is through these moments and prayerful opportunities that we are brought even deeper into relationship with God that what we achieved on our Lenten journeys. Please take time to review the Mass schedule and Good Friday Passion logistics.

Thank you for your continued support of St. Clare's and May your family have a Blessed Triduum and Happy Easter!

Sincerely,

Katie Stanczak

Deadline for WPCP is April 15th so the office has time to verify your application.

After Care Survey Results

After reviewing the 23 responses from the 87 school families, we received feedback that 8 students would use an after care program on a part-time, sporadic, or drop in basis. Unfortunately, we will need a commitments of 14 students full-time in order to staff the 2 positions required to run the program. Therefore, at this time, St. Clare's is not optioning an After-Care program for next school year.

However, if you are in need of support for after-care, please contact Katie Stanczak directly. We have a couple wonderful community members willing to help, if possible. I would be happy to connect you to see what can be done.

Scrip Helps You Save on Tuition!

Scrip is a great way to support the school and save yourself some money on tuition!

How Scrip Works: You buy Scrip to purchase everyday products (ex: gas, groceries, etc). The company donates a percentage back to the school when you use Scrip for your purchases. You get half of that amount as a savings on your tuition and the other half goes towards the school. For example, if you buy $100 Shell card, they give 10% back. Therefore, $10 is given back; $5 comes off of your tuition and $5 goes to the School.

How to Buy Scrip:

1) Scrip is sold after the following Masses:

- Saturday, 4pm Mass @ Askeaton

- Sunday, 8am Mass @ Greenleaf

- Sunday, 10am Mass @ Wrightstown

2) Scrip is sold at school on Wednesdays

3) Scrip can be purchased using the RaiseRight App
