From React to Reflect
When you're in the thick of things, it is hard to process what is going on. As we wind down the year; teachers, districts, and states will begin to look at what worked and what didn’t. Everyone is speculating what the fall might look like and how to prepare. States and districts are also preparing for possible school closures in the future. We will be expected to move beyond emergency remote learning to more formal robust distance learning if there is an extended closure in the fall or possible future closures.
Data drives much of the decision-making process and many organizations are beginning to collect the data. Research is being done to examine the impact closure has had on education and student learning. The work is preliminary but is interesting to read.
