TE REO FOCUS FOR THE WEEK
KIA ORA VS WHANAU, FROM MR O
Your newsletter writers this week are Mr George and Mrs Anderson. Unfortunately Mr Ogle is at home with Covid-19, but don't worry, we still have plenty of great things to share!
Big thanks to those who came along to support our Jump Jam performers at the Mountainairs Game on Friday night. We had a huge number of families there which was fantastic. We shared a video of the performance on the school Facebook page which you can view. The night was capped off by the Mountainairs beating the Tuatara by 2 points in the final seconds - awesome result!
Our open night on Tuesday was a big success, despite the windy weather! It was great to see so many of our families here to chat to their children's teachers and look at their work in the classrooms.
We have had a fantastic week with Megan and Harold and the Life Education truck. No doubt you have heard all about it from your tamariki!
Our Rippa Rugby tournament has now been rescheduled to Tuesday 21 June at Vogeltown Park. We will keep you updated as unfortunately the weather forecast is still not looking good.
We had our Interschool sports exchange with West End School on Wednesday. It was a great day and a big thanks to West End for hosting us. We lost the rugby, soccer and netball but came away with a win in the chess. Thanks to all our supporters who came down to watch. Our next Interschool exchange is on Monday 27 June vs Woodleigh School, at Woodleigh.
We had a great morning on Thursday with Bill coming in to do some planting with our 'Greenies'. Thankfully the weather held up!
Another busy week coming up whanau! Lets hope for a break from the rain this weekend!
Aroha nui,
Mr George and Mrs Anderson

Please remember we are still in a pandemic and we must continue to keep being vigilant with hand washing and keeping safe.

MR O'S FRIENDLY REMINDERS
1) Please remember to contact the school office if your child is absent or going to be late. We have had to contact an average of 25 parents per day whose children have not come to school. You can report absences via Skool Loop, text 021 753 680 or ph 06 753 6843. Please do not use SeeSaw for student absences - these must come through the office.
2) Please be courteous before and after school with parking around the school sites. We have lots of kids and not enough parks, so please allow time to get to school and be patient around the streets.
Thanks whanau
Stay safe and be kind to each other. Thank you for the ongoing support of Vogeltown School, we appreciate the community we live in.
On behalf of the Vogeltown team,
Ka kite ano
